The presidential inauguration is bringing out a lot of feelings today, so saying I could have timed the release of Shattered Fate is probably an understatement. When I was scheduling the release of the books in my King’s Crossing series, I wasn’t paying attention to anything but the dates, and I think that might have been a mistake.
In general, releasing books during an election year is always like playing Russian Roulette. You just never know what you’re gonna get. For some, it’s just another year, and for others, well. Since you’re reading this, you probably know I’m a liberal, believing everyone should have equal freedoms. I’m a supporter of gay rights, trans rights, women’s rights. I support all people, no matter the color of their skin, and I try to make my author space safe for everyone. I’m white and grew up without a lot of exposure to other cultures and ethnicities, so I know sometimes I fail. When I know I fail, I try to do better.
These next four years aren’t going to be safe for a lot of people, and today, we feel that. And if you don’t feel that, I hope you never do.
With all that being said, the fourth book in my King’s Crossing series is out today. In their own way, Gage, Zarah, Zane, and Stella fight their own kinds of evil, desperately trying to untangle themselves from a web of lies, deceit, and murder. There’s danger lurking around every corner, and Zarah doesn’t know who she can trust…until she meets Gage.
This is book four of a six book series. I hope you’ve been enjoying the story so far, and if you haven’t started yet, please remember to begin with book one. This series is more of a serial and you need to read them in order.
Maybe I chose a good day to release a book after all. Fight for what you need. Fight for others and what they need. My characters fight for themselves, but in doing so, save a lot of other people too weak to defend themselves.
Shattered Fate is available on Kindle, in Kindle Unlimited, and Paperback.

This is also a gentle reminder that if you grabbed an arc of this book, or any of the others that have been released, it’s a great time to leave a review! I appreciate your time!
Have a great week!

I think it was a mistake to bring this to our attention. On a day that should be special for your new release, to bring politics or fear into the mix, is disconcerting. To say that the next four years are going to be hard casts a pall on the happiness and success of the book.

Hi, Andrea. Yeah, you’re probably right. I scheduled my releases last year, and I had no idea this was coming. I struggled with what to say and I didn’t want to ignore it completely. I could have just waited until tomorrow to send my newsletter out, but since I did do it today, not saying anything would have felt insincere. Thank you for reading and commenting. I hope you have a nice day!
